LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Lichfield

Gravelly Hill Station: lnwrgh2333

Ex-LMS 2-6-2T No 40122 is seen running bunker first on a New Street to Sutton Coldfield local passenger service. This photograph was taken from Hunton Hill road bridge and is most likely recording the departure of the same train seen arriving at Gravelly Hill seen in image 'lnwrgh1488'. Built as LMS No 122 by Derby works in August 1935, No 40122 was to remain in service until June 1962 when it was withdrawn from 6G Llandudno Junction shed.
