LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Harborne

Ex-LNWR 2P Watford Tank 0-6-2T No 6927 is seen from Woodbourne Road bridge returning from Harborne. CJ Williams wrote in the SLS Journal that weight limitations on the two overbridges along the route resulted in a restriction of the types of locomotives that could work the line. The only tender locomotives allowed were: 0-6-0 LNWR 'Cauliflowers'; 0-6-0 LNWR 'Coal Engines'; 2-4-0 LNWR 'Jumbos'; 0-6-0 Midland Class 2F locomotives; and 2-6-0 LMS Ivatt Class 2 locomotives.
