A side view of the former B&DJR shed located between the up and down lines of the Whitacre branch on 20th May 1954. The B&DJR built a two-road engine shed to accommodate four locomotives but the rapid downgrading of the line meant that these facilities were not required within a few years after opening. The shed is very large for just accommodating four locomotives, particularly of 1839 vintage, and therefore it suggested that it must have been employed as a workshop to service the locomotives too.
