Hawkesbury Lane Station: lnwhl148

Looking towards Nuneaton with the station's down platform on the left and the station master's house on the right

Looking towards Nuneaton with the station's down platform on the left and the station master's house on the right. The 'path' to the right hand platform has been edge in white, a safety feature created to protect passengers when walking along the low platform. The building on the left is constructed of timber framing and cladding erected on a small brick plinth with a very short canopy being provided to protect passengers from inclement weather. The station was lit by oil lamps which was common to most railway stations situated outside of a main conurbation with some, such as Hawkesbury Lane, never being equipped with electric lighting during their entire existence.
