Close up of image 'lnwrmart1330' showing the signal box located at the Rugby end of the down platform and in the distance the signal gantry controlling access to the station and yard. Access to the goods yard was available at both ends of the station. However as standard railway practice dictated that access needed to be via trailing points this meant that any train needed to reverse in to the yard. Traffic from Leamington would normally run past the signal gantry in the distance and then reverse back into the yard thus providing access to most of the sidings. There was a crossover facility from the down line to the up line at this location so traffic from Rugby could run past the crossover towards the station and then reverse on to the up line to gain access.

The pointwork seen in the foreground was used to access the short siding that ran in to the shed from this side - a Van is seen in the above image standing on the siding immediately before the goods shed. This siding also provided access to a cattle pen that was located behind the fence seen on the left. Traffic from Leamington wishing to enter this siding needed to pass the single slip located on the up line as seen above and then reverse on to the down line and after the points had been set for the yard draw forward in to the yard. As can be seen this siding was fitted with a trap to avoid runaways fouling the main line. A little further towards Rugby, some 700 yards distance, were the siding for Nelsons Cement Depot which comprised two sidings with a warehouse sited between the two lines (see image of 'layout'. A pair of cottages for Nelson's employees were also in sited at the sidings.
