Ex-LMS Fairburn 2-6-4T No 42267 is working an empty stock trip having just left New Street's north tunnel circa 1951. Monument Lane shed is on the right whilst the 'Old Malthouse' sidings are seen on the left. The nickname being given by the Monument Lane local enginemen such as Brian Swancott. The 4MT locomotive was built at Derby in January 1947 and was to remain in service until May 1967 when it was withdrawn from 56A Wakefield shed.
