The station now bears the legend Trent Valley Station whilst the station signage is carrying British Railway's London Midland Region corporate colours of Maroon background and straw yellow lettering. The Ford Consul standing outside was built between 1951 and 1962 and was the four-cylinder base model of the three-model Ford Zephyr range, comprising Consul, Zephyr and Zephyr Zodiac. When the station was rebuilt as part of the West Coast Main Line's electrification work the former Midland lines and platforms had to be raised two feet to provide sufficient clearance for the overhead catenary on the former LNWR lines.
