An 1860s view of the Trent Valley line showing the location of the original LNWR engine shed and the two branch lines to Coventry and Hinckley. The shed was initially a much simpler affair with a single road shed and turntable immediately in front with one storage siding - all accessed from the Coventry branch. To the right of the junctions the Trent Valley line can clearly be seen passing over what became the Leicester Road.
