English Electric Type 4 Diesel locomotive D308 heads the up 'Royal Scot' express through Nuneaton station. Built by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn Limited in November 1960, the 1Co-Co1 locomotive was reclassified and renumbered under TOPs in April 1974 as 40108 as such remained in service until April 1980 when it was withdrawn from D09 Manchester Division MPD to be scrapped at Swindon works.
