The two entrances to Perry Barr station with the down line on the left and the up line on the right in 1959. The sign adjacent to the stairs taking passengers to the down platform includes reference to Walsall, Cannock and Willenhall. The sign adjacent to the up platform advertises services to New Street, Stechford and Coventry amongst others. On both doors is evidence of scratching caused by a security bar pivoted on one of the two gates. The road to Birmingham City centre is on the left and the road to Walsall and Aldridge is on the right.
