Ex-LNER 4-6-2 No 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' being prepared for the opening ceremony of the Locomotive Testing Station on 19th October 1948. Built as LNER No 4498 in October 1937, No 60007 was renumbered by the LNER as No 7 in 1946 and again in 1948 by British Railways as No 60007 which she until withdrawn from Ferryhill shed, Aberdeen, in February 1966 to be preserved.
