Ex-LMS 2-6-0 'Crab' No 42854 stands in line with a number of other unidentified locomotives outside of Rugby shed. The other locomotives include an ex-WD 2-8-0, an ex-LMS 2-6-0 'Stanier Mogul' and an ex-LMS 2-8-0 8F locomotive. Built at Crewe works in March 1930 No 42854 remained in service until November 1963 when it was withdrawn from Birkenhead shed for scrapping at Crewe works in December 1963.
