LMS 4P 4-4-0 Compound No 1134 is resplendent in its Crimson Lake livery as it stands by one of the coal stacks on 23rd June 1928. Built at Horwich works in February 1926 it remained in service until withdrawn from service in October 1954 from Corkerhill shed in Glasgow to be scrapped at Kilmarnock works. The lamp positioned at the top of the smokebox is in the 'Group 2' position used to indicate that the engine had been on one of the following duties; ordinary passenger train, 'mixed' train, breakdown van train not going to clear the line, branch passenger train, rail motor train or railcar.
