A signalman's view of the station and yard looking towards Coventry showing the reason for the cantilevered box

A signalman's view of the station and yard looking towards Coventry showing the reason for the cantilevered box on 1st October 1947. A much better unobstructed view being obtained. The layout of the simple one siding goods yard is clearly seen with the cattle dock on the right with what appears to be a grounded four-wheel coach body at the far end. The L&BR gate keepers house can be seen just past the single storey booking office whose gable end is covered in posters. The brick built building on the right in the yard is thought to be a weighbridge office. As can be seen in this view of the up platform, which together with the down platform, was very short and as a child Mike remembers occasions when a train of six coaches or more would need to pull forward to let passengers alight from the rear. On later occasions in DMU open stock which allowed the guard to walk through, he would announce that passengers wishing to alight at Tile Hill needed to be in the rear three coaches.
