A wintry view looking north from the Lifford branch towards the signal box on the main line, probably taken on 12th January 1959, the same day as 'mrb1490'. Bournville shed is on the left and the canal on the right.The Maryvale Road bridge is in the background. The junction in the foreground is of a siding parallel to the main line. The signal is a Midland Railway lower quadrant design. The distinctive wooden finial on top was to protect the wooden post. The main line signal, next to the signal box, is another M.R. built one.
