Seven ex-LNWR 19" goods 4-6-0s are stored out of use in the two sidings beside the shed on Sunday 17th March 1935. The 170 former LNWR '19" Experiment Goods' engines, built between 1906 and 1909, were all inherited by the LMSR and classified for power as 4F. The first withdrawal was in 1931 and the last in 1950. The ones in the photo were identified as Nos 8723, 8786, 8820, 8832, 8841, 8842, 8869. Two of these were withdrawn in 1935, three in 1936 (including No.8820), one in 1937 and one not until 1946. For another view of these engines, taken a fortnight earlier, see 'mrb1561'.
