View of Brickyard Crossing signal box located on the Camp Hill line adjacent to the L&BR route on 25th October 1964. Brickyard Crossing was to the south of Landor Street Junction and just north of St Andrew's Junction, at the point where the line to Exchange Sidings and New Street station separated from the Camp Hill line. There were once a number of Brickyards in the area which would require road vehicles to gain access by crossing the railway hence the name. However Bob Essery who worked through the area frequently, being a Saltley fireman, never once saw the crossing closed.
