Close up of image 'mrbj157' Broom Junction showing Broom North
Signal Box with covered vans standing on the two sidings. The two signal boxes,
Broom Junction Signal Box and Broom Junction Signal Box, were replaced in 1934
as part of economy measures with a new larger signal box being erected on the
site of Broom Junction Signal Box opposite the turntable. The nearest platform
was bidirectional as indicated by the two signals at each end. The nearest
signal post controlled traffic proceeding southwards or to Stratford upon Avon,
whereas the signal seen in the distance on the left, just before the signal
box, controlled traffic to Redditch.
