A panoramic view of Birmingham Central Goods Station taken from Holliday Passage high above the tunnel on 26th September 1922. Except for the addition of the cement shed with its own siding (out of view on the left) and the enlargement of the timber built 'metal shed' (seen above) the area border by Suffolk Street and Holliday Street has changed very little during the previous thirty years. Above the metal shed the Midland Railway's two-storey stable block for forty horses built at an estimated cost of £2,400 can be seen. Subsequent to this proposal being approved in August 1891 further accommodation for another 86 horses with three loose boxes, a boiler house, harness room, provender stores, smithy, and a urinal, costing £7,250 was approved by the General Purpose Committee on 19th October 1893.
