Close up of image 'mrch359' showing the earlier Midland Railway style of gas lamp with its wider base found at Camp Hill station. The lamp is different to that seen on the lamppost at the Montpellier Street end of the up platform, as seen in image 'mrch855', but appears to be the same as the lamp on the lamppost seen in image 'mrch856a' which was located at the Highgate Road end of the up platform. Careful observation will show that the front panel opens in order to allow the lamp to be lit. The top section of the front panel had the name of the station 'Camp Hill' reversed out against a black background.
