View of Duddeston Road Junction's third and last signal box
being erected to open on 2nd October 1955. The first signal box was known to be
open prior to 1877 and was replaced by the second signal box, seen on the left,
when it opened on 23rd September 1888. Its thought that the opening of the
second signal box coincided with the development of Lawley Street Goods Station
and the need to remove Duddeston Mill Road level crossing due to the large
volume of traffic.
