Ex-WD 2-8-0 No 90102 is seen running tender first towards Hazelwell signal box on 17th January 1954. The 'Austerities' were not commonplace in the area and its not known how No 90102, allocated to 26B Agecroft shed, came to be at Hazelwell. Built as WD No 7001 by the North British Locomotive Company in February 1943, No 90102 was initially loaned out to the LNER until December 1944 when it was returned to the War Department (WD). Following its acquisition by the LNER No 90102 became part of British Railways' locomotive stock and was to remain in service until November 1963 when it was withdrawn from 9K Bolton shed to be scrapped during January 1964.
