LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham
Hazelwell Station: mrhaz837
Ex-LMS 0-6-0 4F No 43941 is seen hauling a Class K stopping
freight as it is about to cross the Worcester & Birmingham canal on 4th
March 1956. The canal was located between Lifford and Hazelwell at a place
where the railway was carried on an embankment. Built by Armstrong Whitworth in
1920, No 43941 was to remain in service for little more than a year later being
withdrawn during September 1957 from 18A Toton shed to be scrapped during
October 1957 by Derby works.
