The entrance to the station was off Stanley Road which is marked by the terraces running off the A47 to the left. On the opposite side of the A47 behind Jodrell Street are the Midland Railway's main goods facilities with two goods sheds and sidings in evidence. Peter Lee notes in his book on the Trent Valley line that the two quarries seen the other side of the Midland line and either side of the A47 are the 'Midland Quarry' on the left and 'Judkins Quarry' on the right.
