Ex-LMS' 5MT 2-6-0 No 42951, a 'Stanier Crab' is coming up from the Trent Valley line with a mixed freight. The roof of Nuneaton Abbey Junction signal box can just be seen above the tank wagons. Built as LMS No 13251 in November 1933, it was renumbered very quickly by the LMS as No 2951 in August 1934 which it retained until it was given its BR number in July 1950. The locomotive had spells of being a Nuneaton engine, first in 1953 then in 1961 and finally in 1963 afterwards it was later withdrawn from 9F Heaton Mersey shed in March 1966.
