Looking north along the down platform towards Bromsgrove Road bridge with the main station building on the right circa 1962. Note the two styles of canopy, the one on the left being newer with a deep plain valance whereas the one on the right is supported by columns and is a more elegant affair. The station had by 1962 passed into the control of the Western Region of British Railways, a facet of which can be seen by the two bench seats, the nearest having a GWR monogram cast into the metal legs whilst the other has 'BRW' cast into the metal legs.
