LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Redditch South Signal Box, located on the up line and south of the station, is seen just prior to its closure. The signal box had an unusual design of steps up to the cabin being dogged legged and having the stage for passing the train tablet incorporated into its structure. The lamppost served two purposes, one it provided the crew with a mark as the approached the signal box and secondly it aided the fireman and signalman to make the exchange.
