Close up of image 'mrsp1350' showing what appears to be the remnants of the Stage adjacent to Bomford and Evershed's siding. This siding was installed in 1910 and had its points fitted with a lock whilst the siding itself was fitted with a trap to prevent wagons rolling back on to the running line. The Stage (ground frame) had two levers both interlocked and controlled by the single-line tablet thereby ensuring only the train crew and guard could carry out shunting from the main line.
