The footbridge was numbered by the Midland Railway as Structure No 35 whilst the brick built road bridge carrying Anchorage Road over the railway was No 34. On the right beneath the footbridge a footpath can be seen running down from Anchorage Road to the up platform. The lamp posts seen on the up platform were lit by gas and because the light generated was not powerful they had to be spaced much closer than would have been necessary if lit by electric lighting.
