Looking towards Bromford Bridge from Washwood Heath Junction Signal Box with the upsidings on the very left and on the right Junction Road sidings. Between the upsidings, which as can be seen are full of wagons, and the four track main Derby to Birmingham lines are the Dug Out Sidings also fully occupied in the is undated early 1950s photograph. To the right of the running lines are the five roads of the down Junction Sidings which Bob Essery states, were 'used as the starting point for a number of transfer workings to the GWR (Western Region BR) at Bordesley'. The unidentified ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 is standing on the second road of the sidings with the down goods passing under the middle section of the signal gantry.
