Ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 48674 passes Water Orton East Junction Signal Box and takes the Kingsbury line with a Class F freight

Ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 48674 passes Water Orton East Junction Signal Box and takes the Kingsbury line with a Class F freight working in May 1966. Built in March 1944, No 48674 was allocated to 2B Oxley shed at the time of the photograph having been allocated previously to 3A Bescot shed from March 1953 to March 1966, following its move to 8C Speke Junction shed in February 1967, No 48674 was withdrawn from service from the shed in December of the same year to be scrapped. British Railways categorised a Class F freight service as an 'Express freight, livestock, perishable or ballast train NOT fitted with the automatic brake'.
