Bidford on Avon: smjboa165
A 1922 25 inch to the mile Ordnance Survey map showing
Bidford Station and the Brick Works sidings. Since 1904, the station has
benefited by the installation of the metal corrugated shed for storing parcels
and other items of value as well as a grounded coach body to provide passengers
with a waiting room, as seen in image 'smjboa2'. The
Bidford on Avon Brick Works have massively expanded and require two sidings
instead of one with a slightly different turnout arrangement on to the running
line. The surrounding area has now been planted with trees. Arthur Jordan noted
in his book that the sidings were used for distributing the harvested plums and
throughout the year by local coal merchants.
