Ex-MR 3F 0-6-0 No 43520 is seen near Bidford on a goods
train made up of an ex-LMS 50' brake, fitted vans and sheeted open wagons
travelling from Stratford upon Avon to Broom Junction. In the top right hand
corner of the photograph can be seen the pointwork for accessing the coal
merchant sidings. Built for the Midland Railway to their 1873 class design by
Neilson & Company in January 1897 No 43520 remained in service until
withdrawn from Bedford shed in December 1959 to be scrapped by Doncaster Plant
in September 1960 after being stored at Derby.
