A general view of the exchange facilities between the limeworks and the E&WJR which were located at the eastern end of Goldicote cutting. The exchange dock has been reinforced by the erection of a retaining wall built of brick. This enabled the side tipping narrow gauge wagons to run very close to the edge of the dock in order that their loads could be dropped directly into the open standard gauge wagons standing on the siding below. To avoid the stone falling in between the open standard gauge wagon and the retaining wall a piece of timber placed on the top of the brick wall and the top of the standard gauge wagon was used to act as a chute. As the standard gauge wagons were filled they would be moved to the left along the siding.
