Ex-LMS 0-6-0 4F No 44587 is seen standing inside Stratford on Avon shed in company with other classmates on 21st May 1956. The replacement shed was very much more utilitarian than its predecessor and its functional design and layout would easily be thought appropriate to many of today's preserved railways. Built at Derby works in September 1939 No 44587 was to remain in service for another ten years being withdrawn in May 1965 from '9L' Buxton shed to be scrapped during September 1965 by Drapers Ltd of Hull.
