Another view of the ex-GWR locomotives at the head of the LCGB special made up of Southern Region coaching stock on 12th October, 1963. The LCGB's 'Thames, Avon and Severn Rail Tour' started the tour at London Waterloo. The turntable in the foreground is still operational although the rust on the rails indicates that it was not used very frequently. Most locomotives that needed servicing would run to the nearby former GWR shed at Stratford upon Avon. The water tank in the background is also still in use being used to supply the water columns at the station.
