View of the Stratford Upon Avon Old Town Exchange Ground Frame on 17th April 1965. With the closure of the line to Broom which followed the cessation of passenger services some years previously in 1952 the only traffic of consequence to Stratford upon Avon was the Iron Ore traffic between the Midlands and South Wales which did not require a signal box. Therefore what little access was required to the GWR line and the station's sidings could be provided by a Ground Frame which would be unlocked by a key kept at the GWR signal box.
