Ex-MR 3F 0-6-0 No 3521 shunts a 'Loco' coal wagon at Stratford upon Avon shed on 15th May 1942. The wBritiainar had been going on for just less than three years and at this date Britain had yet to achieve a victory. Built in 1897 to a SW Johnson design, like Victorian locomotives it was only the demands of war, the lack of cash and material combined with other priorities, which saw these locomotives work past their true retirement dates. A Stratford upon Avon locomotive on 1st January 1948, the locomotive spent much of its post war years in the Birmingham area before being allocated to 14E Bedford in October 1962 and then 17A Derby shed in May 1963 before being withdrawn in July 1963.
