LMS Route: Stratford Midland Junction - The Shakespeare Route

E&WJR and SMJ - Locomotives and Rolling Stock: smjsa307

The Ro-Railer at Stratford upon Avon goods yard after it has been made ready for to travel by road to the Welcombe Hotel. Guests invited to attend the demonstration included members of the government; War Office; other railways some from overseas including the USA and of course the press. The LMS officers were led by their Chairman Sir Josiah Stamp who was the leader of the proceedings. The demonstration was indeed a success and the LMS received many enquiries, some of them from the USA.
