Ex-GWR 2-8-0 No 3806, with full wagons of iron ore, leaves the new south curve onto the line to Honeybourne on 25th April1961. The former route to Broom which crossed the ex-GWR line can be just be seen in the left background. The line to Broom was closed on 13th June 1960 and within four years the track had been lifted throughout its entirety. A member of the GWR 28xx class, No 3806 was built at Swindon works in August 1939 and was to remain in service until December 1963 when it was withdrawn from 84C Banbury shed to be scrapped by J Cashmore's of Great Bridge.
