Ex-LMS 4F 0-6-0 No 44491 is acting as shunter at Stratford Old Town during advanced works on the southern junction on 29th April 1959. The line to Broom can be seen rising upwards and to the left to cross the former GWR line to Honeybourne new line, the bridge of which can just be seen. The new curve to join with this line would run to the left of the line to Broom. Built as LMS No 4491 by the North British Locomotive Company of Glasgow in December 1927, No 44491 would be renumbered as such in July 1948 and would remain in service until October 1962 when it was withdrawn from 8B Dallam shed in Warrington to be scrapped.
