Close up of image 'smjsa42' showing the original station structure on the right and the later extensions on the left. The single storey extensions were built after the First World War and had a flat roof design being much cheaper than a pitched roof. The middle section between the two gables has a small flat canopy providing cover to passengers arriving or leaving the booking hall. The windows on the right are for (from right to left) - the first is for a store room, the second is for the ladies toilet whilst the third and fourth windows are for the ladies waiting room.
