Building the last Main Line Railway
Flecknoe, Willoughby and Staverton: gcrcs113
The completed plate girder bridge which carried the GC's
London Extension over the LNWR's Leamington to Weedon branch line. The bridge
has been built to accommodate double tracks should the LNWR require it in the
future, a necessary but expensive insurance policy as it always remained a
single line until closure. T Oliver & Son was the firm contracted to build
this section of the Last Main Line (Rugby to Woodford).
