LNER Route: Leicester to Marylebone

Ex-LMS 4-6-0 Class 5 No 45277 races through Rugby GC on an up excursion to Marylebone in 1962. On the left standing in the refuge siding is a local made up of compartment coaching stock with two Meat Containers in tow. Built by the Armstrong Whitworth Company in November 1936, No 45277 was to remain in service until February 1967 when it was withdrawn from 6A Chester shed to be scrapped by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
