LNER Route: Leicester to Marylebone

Ex-LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 44830 arrives at Rugby Central with the evening Woodford Halse to Rugby Central service. The 'Black Five' was at this time a Leicester Central engine. Built as LMS No 4830 by Crewe works in August 1944, No 44830 received its British Railways number in September 1948 which it retained whilst it remained in service until August 1967 when it was withdrawn from 9F Heaton Mersey shed.
