Ex-LNER 4-6-2 A3 class No 60061 'Pretty Polly' with the up York-Swansea express on 15th April 1950. The locomotive is in an extremely dirty condition which was quite common in the immediate post-war years. Built in April 1925 by Doncaster works as an A1 (later A10) class locomotive before being rebuilt as an A3 in May 1944 it was numbered by the LNER as No 2560. It was finally withdrawn from service in September 1963 from 34F Grantham shed.
