Colliery Lines
Coventry Colliery: misc_cc021
British Railways built 0-6-0T No 1501 is seen running tender
first at the head of a long coal train as it crosses Wheelwright Lane level
crossing in Bedworth. Despite the branch only having a few trains each way per
day, the signal box controlling the level crossing was manned. The original
swing gates had been replaced by the 'drawbridge' style where the gates are
raised in to the air allowing traffic to proceed underneath.
