LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

Ex-LMS 2-8-0 8F No 48258 is seen running tender first past
Foleshill gasometers whilst at the head of a coal train. Built built by the
North British Locomotive Company to a War Department order in October 1940 and
initially allocated WD No 398 the locomotive was absorbed into LMS stock prior
to nationalisation at which point it acquired the LMS running number No 8258.
Renumbered by British Railways as No 48258 it remained in service until August
1967 when it was withdrawn from Edge Hill shed to be scrapped by J Buttigieg of
Newport in January 1968.
