Three Spires Junction: lnwr_3spires1477

Ex-LNWR 0-8-0 'Super D' No 8892 is seen shunting at Three Spires Junction with the main Coventry to Nuneaton line behind the locomotive (passing under the far end of the bridge). Built at Crewe in December 1909 No 8892 was to remain in service for just over 39 years in service before being withdrawn from Coventry shed in January 1949 to be scrapped by Crewe works. Due to being scrapped shortly after the nationalisation of the railways, No 8892 never carried its allocated British Railways running number.
