LMS 4-6-2 Streamlined 'Princess Coronation' class No 6237 'City of Bristol' is seen in a very dirty condition as it speeds south on an up express in 1946. Built at Crewe works in August 1939 No 6237 remained in service until September 1964 when it was withdrawn from Upperby shed in Carlisle to be scrapped during January 1965 by Arnott & Young, West of Scotland Shipbreaking Company of Troon.
